Professor Scott Fahlman has made the first emoticon, 30 years ago on 19. September 1982. So Happy Birthday dear emoticon. It was the :-) emoticon, he create for joke markers. The emoticon should be read sideways.
Now 30 years later, we’ve tons of text emoticons in different variations. The emoticons are typically used, to express our moods, in conversations.
Today most text emoticon converted into image graphics. But Professor Fahlman isn’t a fan.
“I think they are ugly, and they ruin the challenge of trying to come up with a clever way to express emotions using standard keyboard characters. But perhaps that’s just because I invented the other kind.”
– Professor Scott Fahlamn
So let us celebrate our beloved text emoticons. <:o)
